Posters for Writers

What do Writers need Posters for?

Being a writer can be a tough job and we need to take inspiration wherever we can find it.

And the thoughts of other writers can remind us of what’s important and inspire us to keep plugging away at the keyboard.

I’ve produced a series of minimalist, typographically based posters, because I want them to inspire, not distract.

These first few posters are quotes from famous authors. Later I’ll branch out into aphorisms about writing, and just generally inspirational posters for writers.

I hope you like them.

Feeling Disempowered?

Tobias Wolff will remind you how powerful writers really are.

A true piece of writing is a dangerous thing, it can change your life - Tobias Wolff Quote

Editing Blues?

A quote from Andrew Jackson will help you see the funny side.

It's a damn poor mind that can only think of one way to spell a word - Andrew Jackson quote.

Nobody Understands How Hard Writing Is?

A counterintuitive observation from Thomas Mann might help.

A writer is somebody for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people - Thomas Mann quote

Not Famous Yet?

Robert Benchley explains how fame isn’t always as great as it seems.

It took me fifteen years to discover I had no writing talent, but I couldn't give up, because by then I was too famous - Robert Benchley.

Tired of Writing?

Elmore Leonard reminds us how not to bore our readers, or ourselves.

I try to leave out the parts that people skip - Elmore Leonard
